Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Global Headquarters Facilities Manager .

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the Air Products Global headquarters in Allentown, PA and for the provision of various facility services.Thefacility includes administrative office buildings, research and development buildings, support buildings, and a warehouse building located in Emmaus, PA. The Facilities Manager is responsible for supporting the development of the new global headquarters that is nearby and under construction with plans to relocate to that new facility in the summer of 2021. The new HQ will comprise office building, research and development building, a parking garage and central utility plant. The incumbent will be an important contributor to the Companys new state-of-the-art Global HQ.

The Facilities Manager is responsible for compliance with Air Products safety standards and regulatory code compliance for the facilities staff and contractors. This position has responsibility for establishing and executing to the annual facility budget including outside service providers, maintenance contractors, and both capital and expense purchases. The Facilities Manager is responsible for evaluations and decisions on preventative maintenance spending, repairs and replacements to ensure the safe and reliable management of the facility. The Facilities Manager works closely with Corporate Procurementonprocurement strategies for its contracts and to ensure all procurement policies and procedures are followed by the facilities staff.

The Facilities Manager will interface at senior management levels within the company in areas related to space allocation, office standards, as well as safety related issues. The maintenance organization consists of union employees. The incumbent works with Human Resources for labor negotiations.

The incumbent is responsible for adjusting the facilities organization based on the changes to the businesses at the headquarters and in preparation for the move to the new location. This also requires looking across the facilities organization for ways to adjust the different services provided and balance what is done with outside resources.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage team of direct reports for supervision of all facilities staff includingthe union staff.
  • Provide leadership in safety for overall team supervised and contractors and work closely with Security, Field Safety, Global Health & Wellness, and the R&D safety and leadership for the safety of the campus.
  • Monitor and direct the responsibilities of direct reports and their teams for the services provided:Manage the operation and maintenance of all plant equipmentPlan and coordinate all installations and refurbishmentsReview utilities consumption and strive to minimize costsManage waste and Environmental and local regulatory requirementsShipping, Receiving, and delivery of all mail, packages and materials across campus and to other Allentown locations including post office pickup/drop-off.Coordinate space planning, layout changes and movesProvide Emergency Response coordinationSupervise all outside service providers
  • Work with all departments for space planning requirements
  • Establish annual budget and forecast spending
  • Work with Procurement to develop strategies and to negotiate contracts for service contracts.

  • Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • 10 years experience as an operations, engineering or business professional
  • 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Plant or Facility operations experience is desirable
